Several months ago my yoga teacher quoted the first two lines of this prayer:
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other” doesn’t make any sense.

Since that class, the quote pops into my head every now and again. I connected with it immediately and yet still pondered the meaning. I loved the visual image. Meeting you there…in this open field. Then I realized it was peace. In that field, is peace. The mind is clear. All is calm. It’s just being. And it’s peace. I can feel the soft ground beneath me. The yellow, tan grass encompassing me. Outlining my body. My hands softly landing on the dirt. I imagine I am in Savasana. The Earth openly accepting me. I am not alone. But silently beside someone. Yes, I know now. It is peace.
